Free National Roaming Likely To Be Implemented By October 2013

The wait is almost over, Telecom minister Kapil Sibal has assured that the free national roaming will be implemented by October 2013. It was proposed in the National Telecom Policy (NTP) in 2012. However Kapil Sibal could not specify the exact dates for the launch of  free National Roaming he just assures that free roaming will be implemented by October 2013.  If the policy gets implemented it will be a huge benefit for frequent travellers.

If free roaming gets implemented people will get free incoming calls even when they are out of their respective telecom circle.

But the telecom operators except Reliance are against this decision. They say that this will lead to reduction in their income and they may be forced to hike outgoing call rates.
