Pan India Mobile Number Portability By October 2013

Nation wide MNP or Mobile Number Portability is likely to be launched by October 2013.

By using Nation wide MNP or Inter State MNP customers can take their number along when they are shifting to an other telecom circle. At present MNP service is available only within a particular telecom circle.

This service will be very useful for people who relocate to different places in India based on their job requirements. They can keep same mobile number even after shifting to a different state.

It is believed that both Nation wide MNP and free roaming service will be implemented by October 2013 under the National Telecom Policy 2012.
