MTS Won Spectrum in 8 Telecom Circles

MTS who operates in CDMA technology won Spectrum in 8 Telecom Circles in the 800MHz spectrum auction done yesterday.

The circles won by MTS India include Kolkata, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi NCR,Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (West) & West Bengal.

They didnt bid for Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa and Uttar Pradesh (East) circles. MTS will soon inform customers in these circles to port out to other telecom operators through MNP. MTS had already stopped operations in an other 10 circles earlier.

Their license in Rajasthan was not not cancelled. So their operations will be limited to 9 circles in India.
