Exclusive: BSNL to Introduce “New General Plan” for Prepaid Mobile Subscribers

BSNL will be introducing a new tariff plan by name “New General Plan” under prepaid mobile services from 25 February 2014. While the existing General Plan comes with several freebies like free calls and also costs more, the new plan will cost Rs. 103 and provides a free bundled top-up of the same amount.

The call rates in both existing as well as new BSNL New General Plan are

Local/STD calls on Mobile and Fixed on On-net @60p/min
Local/STD calls on Mobile Off-net @70p/min
Local/STD calls on Fixed Off-net @90p/min
Local SMS on On-net @60p/SMS
Local SMS Off-net @70/SMS
National SMS on On-net@70p/SMS
National SMS Off-net @80p/SMS

Although this plan comes with no on-net or off-net tariff benefits, this seems to be a new plan just for customers as an option.
