Xperia Z1 vs. Galaxy S4: Which one should you go for?

Sony has just launched the Xperia Z1 in India and it will be up against the likes of the Galaxy S4. The two flagship smartphones will be battling it out for the attention of the consumers in the high end smartphone arena.

Let us have a comparative look at the two smartphones:
sony xperia z1 in India
Built: The dimensions of Xperia Z1 are 5.69 x 2.91 x 0.33 inches and it weighs 170 grams. Where as, the dimensions of Galaxy S4 is 5.38 x 2.75 x 0.31 inches and it weighs 130 grams. Both are 5 inchers but S4 is a more compact one and on the flipside, the Z1 has a way better build quality.

Display: Both the smartphone feature 5 inch capacitive touch display and offer a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and 441 ppi pixel density. So we’ll call it a tie in this arena.

Processor: The Sony Xperia Z1 has been equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974 quad core processor clocked at 2200 MHz. It comes with Adreno 330 GPU. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with an Exynos Octa core processor clocked at 1900 MHz. It carries an Adreno 320 GPU. So the Z1 wins in this regard.

Operating System: Both Sony Xperia Z1 and Samsung Galaxy S4 function on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version but Samsung has had a better record in giving steadier updates and Sony is slowly starting to catch up. So it’s pretty even here as well.

Memory: Both the smartphone carry a RAM of 2048 MB, internal storage of 16 GB and expandable memory of up to 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. That’s neck to neck so this calls for another tie.

Camera: The Xperia Z1 has been loaded with a powerful primary camera of 20.7 MP with LED Flash and a front facing camera of 2 MP. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S4 features a primary camera of 13 MP with LED Flash and a secondary camera of 2 MP. Both the smartphones offer amazing camera features, such as BSI, Face detection, HDR mode and Geo Tagging. The Xperia Z1 has a way better camera and the S4 stands pretty much second to the Sony offering.

Samsung Galaxy S4
Other Features: Both the devices come with proximity and light sensors. Xperia Z1 is available in black, white and purple color variants while Galaxy S4 is available in black and white color variants.

Battery: Xperia Z1 works on a battery of 3000 mAh and Galaxy S4 runs on a battery of 2600 mAh. So the Z1 surges ahead in this department as well.

Price: The S4 is available for around Rs 35,000 and the Z1 for around Rs 42,000. The S4 is priced less but is a relatively older device. The Xperia Z1 is a newer device and offers an accessory bundle that justifies the price difference.

Our Take: We’ll keep it short and simple today. Go in for Xperia Z1 without any second thoughts.

TRAI Recommends Pan India – Full Mobile Number Portability within 6 Months

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has today sent its recommendations on “One Nation – Full Mobile Number Portability” (Pan-India Number Portability) to DoT and suggested its implementations within six months.

MNP-India

If Department of Telecommunications (DOT) accepts TRAI’s recommendation, mobile service users can switch to any operator across India across any circle without changing the mobile number, even if that operator does not operate in their current telecom circle.
Presently, Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is available only with in the circle and if anyone wants to change mobile operator, they must choose between only those operators which are present in his telecom circle.

So Whenever any mobile service users changes his location or migrate to any other circle, he /she needs to acquire a new mobile number from operator of migrated circle, otherwise his /her existing mobile number will be under National Roaming inviting higher call charges for Incoming and Outgoing calls than a normal subscriber.

In accordance with the provisions contained in the National Telecom Policy-2012 regarding “One Nation- Full Mobile Number Portability”, TRAI received a reference from the DoT vide its letter dated 27th Dec 2012, seeking the recommendations of TRAI under TRAI Act for implementing full Mobile Number Portability i.e. MNP across licensed service areas.

In this regard earlier TRAI sought inputs /comments from mobile service operators on various issues in the implementation of “Full MNP” such as suitable method for implementing inter-service area porting, issues relating to processing of porting requests, routing and charging of calls, amendments required in the existing license conditions of the MNP service license, generation of Unique Porting Code (UPC) by a roaming subscriber, modifications required in the present regulation etc.

Telecom regulator TRAI has suggested that the Department of Telecom (DoT) may carry out necessary or required changes in the existing Mobile Number Portability (MNP) License for telecom operators and any other changes needed, so that “Full MNP” or Country Wide MNP can be launched within the next six months.

TRAI also also said that once ‘Full MNP’ is in place, mobile customers should be educated to dial numbers in the ‘+91′ format, so that the all calls get connected across the country without any trouble.

Navratri Garba 2013 Festival In India

Navratri is a Hindu festival, popular in Indian states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar and some Northern States. The celebrations last for 10 days, and it has no fixed dates. It begins with the Ashvin Shukla Prathma and ends with Ashvin Shukla Navami, as per the Hindu lunar calendar. It is a festival dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. The first nine days are marked with the worship of various forms of Shakti/Devi (Goddesses), the tenth day is known as Dusherra which marks the end of Ravana, the demon god. The festival is widely celebrated in North India too, but the infamous Garba dances which are a large part of are mainly organized in Gujarat.

navratri18

Garba is a Sanskrit word literally meaning womb and so implies gestation or basically-Life. The dances are traditionally performed around a centrally lit lamp or a picture or status of the Goddess Shakti/Durga, thus honouring the female form of Divinity. The dance take place in concentric circles and both men and women participate in it with equal enthusiasm. The circles signify the Life process which adhere to Hindu beliefs, that is birth, death, rebirth, the only thing which is constant during all this is the Goddess, hence her statue or image is kept in the centre to depict her immortality and stationary position.

Garba during Navratri is an extremely high powered event which can also be seen as a mixture of various kinds of dance forms, including Sufi dance styles and even modern dance styles. Men and women wear colourful clothes, preferably with a lot of mirror work which addes to the vibrancy of the night. Women wear a three piece choli, with has a lehenga or a long, flowy skirt which has a lot of volume in bright colours like red, yellow, pink, a colourful Blouse and a dupatta worn in the traditional Gujrati style. The cholis are elaborately designed, brightly coloured and decorated with beads, mirrors, shells, bandini work embroidery work and the women also adorn themselves with heavy and blingy jewellery. So if you are thinking about wearing that large gold necklace you have, go ahead, you’ll fight right in. The dressing for men is a bit complicated, as boys and men wear kafni pyjamas, though very spacey and made of light materials like cotton, they could be a little uncomfortable for first timers. On top, men wear a kediyu, which is a shirt with a rounded bottom and they also have to wear a pagdi, a head turban made from a dupatta, generally red in colour, in Gujarati style which can only be made by experts.

Navratri Garba 2013 Festival In India

This colourful dance has also spread throughout the nation. Dandiya, another form of Garba which is performed with decorated and coloured wooden sticks is also very popular. Both Garba and Dandiya are performed at many school/college functions in many Indian states, which shows their popularity and also cultural influence of the Guajarati’s. It’ll be surprising to know that during Navratri, this dance is performed at various places in United Kingdom (UK), Canada, and Australia where a large number of Gujarati communities are living since many years. Even the locals of those regions are attracted to this dance form, because of its simplicity, and its colourful nature and the passion and excitement included.

Garba has gained popularity not only due to its vibrant nature but also because of the Media. During Navratri nights, Garba dances are aired on television live, which grab a lot of attention and also attract people to take part in it. Even movies like Kai Po Che have played a major role in popularizing the Guajarati culture. Nowadays, special songs are also being created which are tailor made to suit the Garba dance steps.
Looking at the special attention Garba has been receiving you can be assured the dance is no less than special and energetic, which leaves one with a sense of happiness, a bit of tiredness, but energized at the heart in the end. Navratri is the best time to visit Gujarat when the streets are lined with colourful lamps and Garba Nights, and even dance competitions are held almost every day with people from all over the world wanting a piece of this Gujarati dance.

Supreme Court Directs Bharti Airtel to TDSAT on 3G ICR Issue

The Supreme Court has asked Bharti Airtel to approach Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) regarding the 3G intra circle roaming agreement issue that began with DoT imposing heavy penalties on telecom majors Vodafone, Idea and Bharti Airtel.

airtel 3G ICRA

The TDSAT has also been asked to decide on the case by this year end and till then, the interim order given by the Apex will continue that restrains Bharti Airtel from adding new 3G subscribers in seven circles where it does not possess 3G licenses. However, the company will be able to continue 3G services to its existing customers in Kolkata, UP East, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala.

On March 18th this year, DoT slapped a penalty of Rs. 350 crore on Bharti Airtel for violating license conditions and offering 3G services via Intra-Circle roaming pacts which according to DoT is illegal. Later in April, similar penalties were imposed on Vodafone and Idea Cellular wherein the companies were asked to pay Rs. 550 crore and Rs. 300 crore respectively.

12) Ask a stranger a trivial question, like the time of day. When they answer, suddenly make your expression extremely serious and sober and say. “I see. Look… I was never here, got it?” If you have any small cash on you you’d be willing to give up like a dollar or a quarter, give it to them.

13) Introduce yourself to strangers. Then say “Just please don’t tell Big Brother.”

14) Punch yourself in the face randomly. But make sure someone notices it, cause it would be a shame to let it go to waste.

16) If you’re 13 or over, mutter “I don’t get it, I don’t WANNA go to kindergarden!” But mutter it loudly enough for someone to hear you.

17) Randomly shout out “You people are all crazy!”

18) Introduce yourself to strangers like this: “Hi, I’m {insert your name here}, I’m {insert your age here} years old, I’m married, twice (your age doesn’t matter) and my best friends are some funny people in white coats who call me “clinically insane.” Do you think I’m cute?”

19) Spray the floor/ground with disinfectant.

20) Giggle, suddenly become very sober, repeat.

21) Brush your teeth, shave or both in a public place.

22) Take out a lolipop and start sucking it. When a stranger walks by, offer it to them.

23) If a stranger asks you something (e.g. directions, the time of day), answer it by saying “That’s what you think” or “You don’t need to know.”

24) Tap a stranger on the back as if you want to ask them something. When they turn around, say “Quark,” then walk away.

25) Tap a stranger on the back as if you want to ask them something. When they turn around, run away giggling.

26) In a public place like a mall, take out a skipping rope and start skipping.

27) Run/walk up to a stranger and exclaim “Look! Behind you!” When they turn around and see nothing, say “Never mind.”

28) Walk up to a stranger and preach a parable to them.

29) Have a blank rectangle of paper on hand. Walk up to a stranger and give it to them, saying it’s “my card.”

30) If a stranger wants to ask you a question, exclaim “Excuse me, I’m on the phone.” Unless you actually ARE on the phone when they ask you, in which case tell the person on the other line angrily, “Excuse me, stop being so rude! Can’t you see someone’s trying to ask me a question over here?!” Then hang up (or pretend to) and tell the stranger “I’m sorry, you know how insensitive people can be. So, what did you want to ask me?” They had it coming, anyway.

31) Walk up to a stranger and tell them in a debative tone, “I disagree. I’m a die-hard Sonic the hedgehog fan.”

32) Wait for the elevator to come without pressing the button.

33) Wear a business suit, briefcase and sunglasses somewhere regular.

34) When a stranger passes you, stand at attention and salute them.

35) Wear a hand puppet everywhere you go.

36) Show disgust and spit on the floor. Then, act totally surprised and try to clean it up with a handkerchief.

37) Just stand around, looking confused and lost. If someone comes up to you and asks if you’re lost or something, politely answer “No, thank you, I had a big breakfast. But thanks for asking!” Bonus points if you mention “big breakfast” late in the afternoon.

38) Take out a piece of paper and write “The cake is a lie” on it. Then pass it off to a stranger any way you can, perhaps with the #29 method.

39) If you have a pizza in a box that clearly states it’s from Pizza Hut, Mario’s, etc, or just the empty box, walk around with it declaring “Home-made pizza for sale!”

Blackberry Pauses BBM Roll Out for Android and iOS; Blames the Unreleased Version

The much awaited release of Blackberry Messenger (BBM) for Android and iOS that gained attention of various social networking sites and users alike on Saturday turned off many before even turning into reality.
The global roll out of the popular messaging app that was scheduled for android and iOS users on Sept 21st and Sept 22nd respectively left many users confused and disappointed before its official release with the
company later pausing its roll-out across globe.

BBM-iOS-iPhone4

Blackberry however blamed the unreleased version of the BBM for Android app that was posted online prior to its official launch. “This unreleased version caused issues, which we have attempted to address throughout the day”, said the company. The tweet on the official twitter account of  BBM reads:
“We know you’re waiting. Pausing #BBM4All rollout to fix issues caused by unreleased BBM for Android app.”

The unreleased version saw more than 1.1 million active users in the first 8 hours (as per the company’s
announcement), which clearly shows the interest of Android users in BBM. The lucky iPhone users who have already downloaded BBM will be able to continue using the messaging app.The unreleased app will however be disabled, and customers who downloaded it should visit www.BBM.com to register for updates on official BBM for Android availability.

We still don’t know the exact date when Blackberry will resume its BBM roll out services for third party platforms, but once they are able, the company will begin a staggered country roll-out of BBM for Android and continue the roll-out of BBM for iPhone.

If you are new to BBM and wondering why you should use BBM, read this post.

iPhone 5S vs Samsung Galaxy S4 Which One is a Better Buy ?

After the launch of the much awaited Apple iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy S4 has got a tough competitor. Both these smartphones are head to head in the market, thanks to their amazing features and brilliant technology.

Let us have a comparative look at the iPhone 5S and Galaxy S4:

Samsung Galaxy S4 Review

Built: The dimensions of iPhone 5S are 4.8 x 2.3 x 0.3 inches and the dimensions of Galaxy S4 are 5.37 x 2.74 x 0.31 inches. They both are very sleek and elegant in design. But the bone of contention is the material being used and the iPhone 5S surges ahead of the S4 in this regard by a wide margin.

Display: iPhone 5S comes with a 4 inch touch screen of 1136 x 640 pixels resolution. Where as Galaxy S4 features a 4.99 inch touch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Galaxy S4 surely wins here because of the better display but on the other hand, the crispness of the iPhone 5S’s smaller and pocketable screen is surely something commendable.

Processor: The iPhone 5S has been equipped with an A7 processor while the Galaxy S4 comes with a Exynos Octa Core processor. Both of them are stellar performers but the Apple offering might just emerge to be a better one.

Operating system: The Galaxy S4 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version while the iPhone 5S functions on iOS 7. iOS 7 provides this smartphone with some of the most amazing features that are on offer and there’s nothing that can beat iOS in terms of intuitiveness so iPhone 5S gets another brownie point.

Camera: The Galaxy S4 has been loaded with a primary camera of 13 MP and a secondary camera of 2 MP. On the other hand, iPhone 5S comes with a rear camera of 8 MP and a front facing camera of 1.9 MP. On paper the S4 looks better and since we haven’t seen as to how the Apple offering performs, we’d like to give it to the Samsung flagship.

iPhone 5S

Memory: The iPhone 5S comes with an internal storage of 16/ 32/64 GB where as the Galaxy S4 comes with an internal storage of 16/ 32 GB with expandability features also. So the S4 wins hands down in this department.

Other Features: Apple iPhone 5S features a fingerprint scanner while Galaxy S4 carries some of the best applications for increasing the functionality as well as for entertainment. So we’ll give both of them a tie in terms of the gimmicks on offer.

Connectivity: Both of them offer similar levels of connectivity and have 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. But Apple has bypassed NFC connectivity which is slowly gaining popularity so S4 wins one more time.

Our Take: Both, Apple iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4, carry great technology and brilliant applications. However, in my opinion, Samsung Galaxy S4 is a better device than Apple iPhone 5S because of a bigger screen, better resolution, better picture quality and great processor. But then, if you don’t have an iPhone, you don’t have an iPhone.

· Battery- 1500mAh battery for a standby time of more than 300 hours, talktime of about 15 hours on 2G and about 12 hours on 3G

Our Take:  Despite being a low budget phone, it offers decent set of features. More than this, it sends out a clear message to the competitors that Samsung is not going to give it up easily. However, there are some shortcomings which may play a dampener. There is no front facing camera and a miniscule 3.0 MP rear camera. Hence, the 3G SIM running on one of the two slots may not be of much use. Similarly, Samsung could have used a notch younger version of the Operating System.

Why BBM makes more sense than any other IM?

With so many instant messaging apps surfacing, it is hard to decide which one is better. Put your dilemmas to rest. BBM is way better than any of the other applications and we have reasons for saying that.

Let us have a look at the 3 key reasons why one should consider using BBM over other instant messaging applications:

Better Quality Infrastructure: BBM has been approved for usage by a wide range of reputed emergency services in West because it functions on the huge private network of Blackberry that interlinks carriers with BlackBerry private infrastructure across the world. So, even when the mobile network is not working or is choking, BBM works flawlessly. Also, it ensures a highly reliable and secure communication.

BBM-iOS-iPhone4

Privacy: Other popular instant messaging services do not offer superior levels of privacy. For example, if you are using WhatsApp, the new owner of the number can easily access your contacts. It is a significant privacy infringement. Also, you will have to manually block somebody if you do not wish to receive messages from that contact. On the other hand, BBM never discloses any unnecessary information, such as the last time and date when you appeared online.

Security: Despite bad sales, Blackberry still retains the title of the King of security. Consequently, BBM offers better security features than any other instant messaging application. Instead of using phone number, like in other applications, BBM makes use of a user ID or device PIN, thereby, providing you with an elegant system to authorize a user. If you do not authorize a user, he or she won’t be able to message you.

The good news is that now you do not require Blackberry device to use BBM. It is now available on iOS and Android operating system too! So all the iOS and Android users can also download BBM and enjoy its perks, are you planning to download BBM ? Do let us know via comments.

What Bloggers Should Learn From Successful Affiliate Marketers?

For years, Affiliate Marketers have done everything in their power to get as much traffic and as many sales as possible to increase their financial growth. Their knowledge about how to take advantage of major search engine’s algorithms can be used to help us all achieve our own goals and get the targeted traffic we deserve. Affiliate marketers don’t have the best reputation when it comes to using approved methods of SEO, and while that is partially true, a lot of the marketers have never used any black hat techniques and have been able to adjust with Google’s updates and stay successful. So let’s take a look at what we can learn from savvy affiliates and how they continue to thrive.

affiliate marketers strategies

Get Ready To Be on Top :D

Strategic Thought Into Their Campaigns

As marketing continues to change, affiliates know that what works now, won’t work in the future and they plan ahead to ensure that they continue to see profits. Most successful affiliates have many different aspects they go through in their campaigns to keep traffic and sales coming, unlike a lot of us who like to focus on one thing at a time.
We tend to try and focus on what might be working at the moment. If we hear that link building is the best way to rank higher for more traffic, we allocate the majority of our time and resources into that part of SEO. What happens when Google updates their link building algorithms and our rank drops? Do we have any backup plans? Any other campaigns we have been working on? Successful affiliates do.
If you take a deep look into what they put into their marketing efforts, you will see many different ways they get traffic. Content marketing, Email Marketing, link building, PPC campaigns, banner ads, and anything else you can think of will most likely be implemented somehow into their overall marketing efforts. Again, I am talking about the “successful” affiliates. Of course there have been plenty of affiliates that don’t properly market or try to just focus on black hat techniques to get some fast money, but where are they now? Probably broke still trying to do the same things.

Give Your Audience Value

Another thing that we tend to see with affiliates is that they try and provide as much value to the people they get in contact with. Whether it be a free e-book, tutorials, a user-friendly website with quality content, or anything else you can think of, they make sure that people will want to come back to them. They realize the longer someone is engaged and interested in them and what they have to say, the chances of that person actually buying their product is much higher.

While the product they are trying to sell might have a lot of value, people don’t tend to just buy things on a whim anymore. Now, they like to research, engage, and think about what they spend their money on. The more reasons we give our audience to stay engaged with us, the more they will trust spending their hard earned money on our businesses.

Be Original

This might be hard, but trying to stay original in your marketing efforts will go a long way. With all of the different types of marketing methods nowadays, it is almost impossible to find a brand new way to reach your market. That doesn’t mean you can’t be original with the ways you present yourself to your audience. Give your target audience something that they are not expected or haven’t been exposed to yet. Original content is always a great place to start, but don’t just get hung up there.
You can create and introduce them to niche specific tools to help them out, make them interact with your brand, host online community events, promotions, and anything unique you can think of. The more innovative you think, the more people you will attract.
Overall, affiliate marketers will continue to be experts on how to reach their target audiences and we can all stand to learn a thing or two from them. These few tips should help you get a few ideas to increase your productivity, but there are plenty of other tips and tricks that can be learned from savvy affiliates.

The Phablet wars: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been launched in India and it is being held against Sony’s Xperia Z Ultra. So let us skip the jibber-jabber and get going right away by comparing the two devices.

Let us have a comparative look at these two devices to deduce which one is better:

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Built: The dimensions of Galaxy Note 3 are 5.95 x 3.12 x 0.33 inches and it weighs about 168 grams. On the other hand, the dimensions of Xperia Z Ultra are 7.06 x 3.63 x 0.26 inches and it weighs about 212 grams. It is also dust and water resistant. Since both of them stretch beyond the single-hand use size, I’ll put a plus one in favour of the Xperia Z Ultra because it brings water and dust resistance to the table.

Display: The Note 3 carries a Super AMOLED touch display of 5.7 inches. Xperia Z Ultra comes with a 6.4 inch TFT touch display. Both the phones offer 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. 6.4 inches seems a bit of an overstretch so Note 3 gets a point in its favour in this department. Scores tied.

Processor: Both the smartphones come with quite the capable processors. The Xperia Z Ultra has been equipped with Quad core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 processor whereas the Note 3 gets a 1.9 GHz Exynos Octa Core processor which is essentially two quad core processors put together. The Xperia Z Ultra emerges out as the better of the two in the processing department.

Operating System: The Galaxy Note 3 functions on Android 4.3 version, however, Xperia Z Ultra functions on Android 4.2.2 version. Note 3 again makes things equal by running on a slightly newer version of Android.

Memory: The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a RAM of 3072 MB and an inbuilt storage of 32 GB. While Xperia Z Ultra offers a RAM of 2048 MB and inbuilt memory of 16 GB. Both the phones feature expandable memory of up to 64 GB. And with this, the Note 3 gets the lead.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra India

Camera: The Galaxy Note 3 has been loaded with a primary camera of 13 mega pixels while the Xperia Z Ultra comes with a primary camera of 8 mega pixels. They both have a 2 mega pixel front facing camera. With a way better rear camera, the Note 3 extends the lead over the Xperia Z Ultra.

Connectivity Features: The connectivity options by both the smartphones are 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hotspot and micro USB. The Note 3 also offers Wi-Fi direct option. We’ll call it a tie in this department.

Battery: The Galaxy Note 3 comes equipped with a Li- ion battery of 3,200 mAh. However, The Sony Xperia Z Ultra comes with a Li- ion battery of 3,000 mAh. Advantage Note 3 and the things don’t seem rosy for the Sony offering.

Price: The Note 3 is on sale for Rs 49,900 whereas the Xperia Z Ultra is available for Rs 39,799. And this can be the factor that nullifies the lead that the Note 3 has.

Our Take: The Note 3 gets a slew of functionalities courtesy the S-Pen and the Xperia Z Ultra misses out on all of them. But when it boils down to the value for money and practicality factor, the Xperia Z Ultra takes the cake as it offers protection against water and dust and the final nail in the coffin is its price which is Rs 10,000 less than the Note 3. For me, the Xperia Z Ultra makes a lot more sense. What about you?

Get These Things Ready When Selling Your Website

Taking all the necessary steps to prepare your website for sale is a must if you have any hope of attracting customers. Adequate preparation is also important if you want the best price. That’s certainly no news because buyers of any business always need some convincing to part with the cash – and that is done when you prepare all the stats and supporting documents before you try to sell.
Here’s an outline of the things you must get ready first before selling your website.

Gather the Stats
Buyers want to see your website stats first to be able to determine whether or not it would be a worthy investment. You must therefore sit down and compile all the facts about your website for presentation. These should include a history of your website traffic, traffic sources, sales, earnings, etc.

Put in as much information as you think is necessary. But make sure you give more emphasis to the important details – unique visits, traffic sources, and the value each visitor brings to your site. These are the stats that are directly tied to its profitability, which is what the buyers are interested in. Claims of any earnings should be supported by these facts and the additional documents (if required).

Your stats are also the main material to be used in website valuation. So getting them in order is important to you so that you can make an estimate of your website’s worth. To the customer, it’s the key to determining how much they would be willing to offer.

Check Your Legal Position
Selling a website is the equivalent of selling a business. At some point, therefore, you’ll be asked to part with the relevant legal and financial documentation of your site. These may include: Documented revenue, expenses and ROI, due diligence, disclaimers and notices, appraisals, trade references and any other legal documents that may be required.

You can’t afford not to check your legalities – iron out the wrinkles first, or they will be the deal breakers. Check to see if all your contracts and licenses are transferrable – the affiliate or advertising account, web hosting contract, advertising contract, software license, content license… If all these are in place, then nothing should come to haunt you later.

Clean Up Code and Content
Housekeeping (tidying up) is a must for your website to be passed as “clean and fit”. Remove scripts, forms and pages that don’t work or are no longer necessary. Have some personal photos uploaded on the site? Remove them. By having a custom 404 page and a .htaccess file that redirects between the non-www and www URL versions of your site, you are demonstrating to the buyer that you do pay attention to detail.
However, don’t make any significant changes to the design and content of your site as this could get the buyers suspicious. They’ll start to wonder why you made those changes just prior to selling – and they’ll be concerned that such changes could affect the site’s search engine rankings. Don’t change the domain or switch servers – they’re wary of this – and most of all, don’t alter the monetization methods at this point.

Create an Information Memorandum
An information memorandum is a selling document that outlines the information and facts about your website. Prospective buyers need it to be able to make a fair value assessment of your website and what it’s worth. A typical information memorandum should cover the sections as outlined below:
  • A confidentiality clause
  • General overview of the website
  • Products and services – an explanation of the revenue model of the website
  • Business operations – the requirements for running the site on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Traffic – a summary of the traffic to your site, including sources
  • Financials – Revenue, profit, loss, asking price
  • Profit and loss – this should be profit a profit and loss statement prepared on a spreadsheet
In preparing this document, website brokers (if you’re dealing with one) also include a client interview that seeks to answer all the questions that buyers are likely to have. Kind of like a FAQs sections, to minimize the number of questions that buyers will raise about your site.
By taking these steps and preparing all the necessary documents in advance, you’ll save yourself – and the buyer – a lot of time. You’ll also ward off any embarrassments that would undermine your business model and become the deal-breakers.

How to Write Good Stories: Tips and Tricks For The Beginning Content Writer

If your writing skills are good enough and you are considering building a career out of content writing or ghost even, you might find yourself in the troubling position of spending two or three hours on a average six hundred words article. Which is not bad, if your value in life is to focus on quality rather on quantity – basically to distinguish yourself from the other farm – writers out there who had the same idea for their future careers. But in a cost-effective world, if you are good enough as a freelancer, you might find yourself not being able to respect all the deadlines and all your clients’ wishes and needs. If you were lucky enough to get hired by a guest posting writing servicescompany, the amount of work is likely to overcome the speed of your fingers typing. You will be the slow one, or the one that doesn’t meet the criteria and your fabulous career in SEO or independent blogging might not see the desired outcome. So what do you do? Sacrifice content for quantity? Definitely not! Stir your wheel to more shallow approaches? Definitely not! So what do you do to write awesome content and many articles a day?

Tips and Tricks For The Beginning Content Writer

Choose your fields of interest
Content writers should be able to write anything about everything, but this doesn’t mean you have to be a scientist having deep knowledge on every possible subject. Find your best and most comfortable niches (which should be more than one, experts say) and develop them. Use your past college knowledge or even your personal hobbies and start working on them. Make a database with the best and updated information on a subject, read, and study and have them at hand. When you will need to write about a specific topic, you should know exactly where to look. Use high authority websites and even take notes about news and recent development in a field, they might be useful later. Having multiple niches at your fingertip is the best thing you could achieve: cross-referencing subjects and intertwining them allows you to be more creative, to draw inspiration more easily and to ease up the process of writing. Making analogies, being able to provide educated comparisons and interlinking different fields is one key to success in professional content writing.

Build a story starting from a general outline
Just as in creative writing, having an outline helps you save time. Before putting the words on the paper, you should know  what is the story’s subject, what are its main points, where do you want to lead your readers to. Give the story a purpose. Professional writers, just as novelists make up a story having only a vague idea and improvising along the way. This doesn’t mean that inside their heads they know nothing about what they are writing about. As a beginner content writer, your outline should include an introductory paragraph, configuring the premises, the general story and the goal, followed by the actual content. You already know it should be unique, original and highly informative so the next step and the hardest, is to provide that content.

Research
Many beginner writers lose themselves in this stage, spending a great amount of time cross – referencing the information they found, analyzing multiple sources, wanting to give their best. These are the hours that differentiate you from a prolific writer. What is to be done? First rule of journalism says to check your source and you can do it easily, because you already have an ever-growing database of resources you can verify and get inspired by. Next step is to permanently ask yourself the same question over and over again: what is this article about? Restrain your interest to the story’s subject and keep in mind that you are not working on a doctoral thesis. If you have to present five new business opportunities, do exactly that: present them, having in mind the person who reads the article. Is that information useful to them? Does it provide enough data for them to start searching on their own, if interested? Is the information presented in a logical, simple, attractive way? Will they bother to finish the article and read the conclusions? You will see that comments about business ethics stranded far away from your purpose to presenting the business, so you should know where to stop when developing on a subject.

Clear the mess at the end
Take a look to the beginning and look at what you are typing now: are you still on the subject? Does it still sound like having a purpose and is still loud, clear, informative and easy to read? If not, brush the text until it serves its real purpose. It may take you some extra – time, but once you become a little more skilled, you’ll end up doing it as it goes.

Writer’s block is only inside your head
It is true that even novel writers and professional content writers meet the so called “writer’s block”, when they don’t know where to begin and where to finish, what to write and how to sound like they are not completely bored. Many experts say that you should write no matter what. But in truth, you might end up with a messy article, showing your lack of mood and creativity and your complete disinterest in the subject. This doesn’t pay. If you experience the phenomenon, you should try to find your own methods to overcoming it. Some writers go for a walk, others read (inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places!), others take a break and do something else. You will be more efficient and your work quality will be higher if you take a break and come back in full force than making efforts to put some words on the paper, just because you have to.
